Kickass Words For Your Whole Website
You know a well-written website when you see one. You don’t really even need to think about it. You click through every page and scroll until your thumb cramps. Every time you look at your website though, you cringe. You stalk competitor’s websites, hoping they won’t notice, then steal some of their words, try to wordsmith it into your own words to sound like you and it just falls flat on its face.
Maybe you’re getting ready to launch your online business and you know you need to show up with a polished website but you don’t even know where to start. How many pages should your website have? How long should your About Page be? What the heck do you even write about?
You know it’s an important part of your professional branding strategy but writing about yourself is hard. Besides, you’ve got clients to serve.
While your website profile sits there half-complete with just a few paragraphs on your About page because you’re afraid to say too much, you’re missing out on potential clients and relationship building every day your website sits there half-assed.
Let’s put your full ass into your website (not literally, unless you have that kind of website).
Your website could tell the whole story about how amazing you are, highlight the best of your professional experience, and make the right clients line-up at your door.
Every page of your website will speak directly to your potential clients. You’ll make a great first impression, and you’ll be excited to show it off.
I’m a copywriter for smart people who hate writing about themselves. I take the burden of creating compelling website copy off your already full plate and write an engaging website that speaks directly to your potential clients, connections, and even Oprah—if you want Oprah to talk to you.
Let’s take your vanilla landing page, your beige about page, and your taupe opt-in and turn it into your most powerful online business card.
With kickass words on your website:
Your About page will speak directly to your perfect clients and tell your story in a way that feels authentic and not douchey
You’ll be using plain English, avoiding bad business jargon that makes people gag
When you pitch your services, guest blogging, and podcast interviewers, your peers will be so impressed and be more likely to help you and send clients your way
You’ll get on the fence lukewarm prospects clicking, buying, or on the phone fast
Kickass website words includes:
A head-turning tagline for your brand, service, product, or anything else that needs a witty or Windex-clear one-liner
A landing page that lets your potential customers know they’re in the right place
An about page that makes people want to stay up all night with you
A manifesto that lets your people know they’re in the right place, written in a way that speaks encyclopedia volumes about your mission
A short bio for when only a few words will do—a podcast interview, magazine feature, intro request, blog guest post and more
A sales page that makes clients want to throw all their dollars at you
A contact page that has inquirers practically throwing their virtual business cards at you
Intelligent extras, because details matter:
Call-to-action buttons that make clicking easier than grabbing a second helping of chocolate cake
A 404 page that makes your website visitors smile
We’ll do this in record time. When we focus our writing efforts you get website that gets you what you need most—paying clients in the door.
Your words will stand out in a sea of button-downs and talking heads. A website that makes you stand apart from the sea of jargon-filled sameness by highlighting the unique contribution that only you could provide.
Finally, get your website together, convert prospects into paying clients, and show up like the pro that you are.
This is what will happen:
Let’s stay up all night and talk about your website. Well, not all night, but when we first get started, you’ll answer some questions. This will give you super helpful insights as you zone in on your voice, clearly outline your dream clients, and position yourself to build your online presence. You’ll probably learn a few things about yourself too. It will also be fun.
A friendly internet-stalking. In a totally non-creepy way. With all the links and information you provide me, I’ll creep on all your (public) online profiles, then confirm the voice you’ll use in your website, which also includes a sh*t list of words that we’ll never use.
Kickass Writing. On your scheduled start day, you grab a latte, put your feet up, while I write the first page of your website. You’ll pop open your shiny new words after lunch and tell me what you like and what you want to change. By the time you go to bed that night, your edits will be done. You’ll take a fresh peek in the morning, and I’ll make one additional round of edits by the end of the day. With one page having your seal of approval (more champagne!) I’ll move onto writing the next page, and the next, and the next, until we’re done. You’ll review all edits within a day or two (momentum is key here) and we’ll wrap up in about two weeks.
Wax on, wax off. You plug your your totally done-for-you, jargon-free copy into your website, sit back and revel in your professional-ness. I’ll review a final, polished version to make sure everything is top notch. More coffee (cause you’ve likely had enough champagne by now).

My clients are amazing and I've been blessed to work with dozens over the past 14 years — writing website copy, sales pages, blog posts, online programs, and more.
Here are some nice things they said...
"Working with Jacqueline is like working with a wittier, punchier, more charming version of yourself. She knows how to take your story and just tuuuurn the dial up a few notches.
I had all this boring copy that told my story well enough, but she rolled in with her magic wand like my fairy godmother and made it actually READ the way I felt about it. She's magic."
"I think I just came in my pants! You are incredible! This article is going to be more than a hit! It's more than perfect. Thank you for being you! Eeekkkk!
Mission accomplished. #nailedit“
"Working with Jacq to write my website has been AWESOME! The words we use are so important, and it's so easy to give her my word vomit, then she cleans it up using the actual words my clients use, while I can focus on what's important--building my HR consulting business! Working with her, I always knew what was coming next, where we were going, and when we'd get there."
"I hired Jacq as a copywriting coach for my program, Make It Work Online. She helped participants with everything from writing website copy, sales pages, and summarizing what they do in just a few succinct sentences. I have really high standards when it comes to copywriting, and Jacq knocked it out of the park! We received so much positive feedback on her work. Jacq is a fantastic writer and knows how to help you become one as well."
"I was hesitant to work with a writer in another time zone and who wasn't already part of the Zuda team. Jacq wrote a bio for me that clearly tells my story, and since she's started editing our website, it's now written in a voice that speaks the language of our community in an exciting way. Jacq is fun and easy to work with--and she's fast! She rocks!"
